AIR SUSPENSION

Air Suspension

Air suspension (or Air Ride) is now strongly established within the UK and Europe. Roads simply don’t lend themselves to lowered cars or high performance sport cars, so we have tailored a large sector of Plush Automotive to cater for this demand. And our aim is to achieve this in the most efficient and professional manner possible. This applies to any air suspension system we provide.

We have the mechanical knowledge and experience in both electronics and fabricating. It has already allowed us to excel the benefits of air ride convenience and reliability on today’s aftermarket builds. Our digital management integration includes equipment such as remote controlled system pre set ride heights and steering wheel / paddle shift controls. We can provide you with an OEM solution and factory fit finish, allowing ease of use.

We are a UK distributor for leading brands which now includes our very own ABP (‘Air By Plush’) range. We can supply any level of suspension system. From manual paddle valves to full electronic management with pre set ride heights, both pressure and height can be based to suit each individual client’s requirements. Our entire range covers the vast majority of popular vehicle marques.

At Plush, we keep a large range of products in stock. From complete systems through to individual fittings, we can fulfill the supply on demand needs of our clients. Our fitting service is a complete package tailored to our client’s requirements. This (more often than not) includes custom controller fitting, OEM boot installations and any required chassis modifications. All our systems come with a 12 months manufacturer’s warranty and our limited lifetime installation warranty.

We can also provide other services for those clients who wish to have their air ride systems on show. This includes full hardline setups, custom finishes to the air tanks and custom trim options to finish off the build. All creating that individual look tailored to the client.

THE FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENTS
TO COMPLETE AN
AIR
SUSPENSION SYSTEM

Air Ride Compressor

Air Ride Compressor

An air suspension system will require 1 or 2 12V compressors. This is your air source that provides the vehicle with its air supply to the air tank allowing you to lift and drop of the system. There are various shaped and sized tanks to suit each application and these are specified to your needs.

ABP Compressors

Over the years we have tried and tested many compressor solutions finding the best solutions on the market possible. Through years of experience and testing it lead us to develop our own ABP Suspension 12v compressor as the perfect solution for speed 200psi Stability and also reduced noise compared to other solutions on the market.

You can find our Compressors HERE in the online store

Alternatively we documented more information about the ABP Compressors HERE on our You Tube channel

Air Suspension Bags / Springs

These come in various shapes and sizes and are tailored to suit each individual vehicles characteristics. ABP Suspension is our go to brand for the struts and bags with their premium build quality, proven durability and performance there isn’t an Air suspension brand on the market that can compete with these factors.

In vehicles with a factory coilover suspension, part of this system is a steel coil spring that wraps around the shock or strut. In an air suspension system, the coil is upgraded to an enclosed flexible rubber membrane. These are known as your air suspension bags. They can then be inflated and deflated using various different management systems, allowing for instant adjustability.

Our air springs allow you to easily adjust ride height on-the-fly with the touch of a button.

Air Ride Suspension FAQ

  • What are the benefits?

The main benefit of using air suspension is allowing the vehicle to raise or lower the suspension height. This is done by pumping or releasing air into/out of an air bag.

  • How much does it cost?

The price varies, depending on the make and model of your vehicle, as well as any optional extra’s you choose. These additions include Electronic Dampening Systems, Dual Compressor and various management systems. Contact us with your details and requirements, where we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

  • What happens if the system fails?
In the unlikely event of the system failing, the vehicle will not be able to increase or decrease the ride height.
  • What is needed for air suspension?
The main components needed are:
  • Compressor.
  • Air Tank.
  • Air Bags/struts.
  • Air Line.
  • Manifold.
  • Water Trap.
  • Management system.
  • How long do air suspension bags last?
This all depends on how the system is treated and looked after. Usually (with minimal maintenance), it will wear similar to all other major components on the vehicle.
  • Can you drive fast with air suspension?
Yes you can! Our ABP air suspension is developed on Bespoke Bilstein Dampers, which are track tested for handling.
  • Which cars are suitable?
Cars such as Range Rover, Audi and Mercedes-Benz all have models of vehicles that have air suspension fitted as standard. However air suspension can be installed to near enough every single vehicle.
  • Is it reliable?
If using proper components and a reputable installer then yes, this would be a trouble free modification to the vehicle.
  • Can it be used in the winter?
Yes, it can be used all year round. In the winter months, we advise you to make sure your tank and water trap are drained more regular, so that the system does not freeze and hinder you lifting or dropping the vehicle.
